Why I need feminism.
Everything in one thing right here
Not one to reblog these kinds of posts but this is one I actually agree with
Lmao this is so one sided I don’t even know where to begin
Same, but I hope the teacher who raped the student gets put in jail for the rest of his miserable life.
Comparing war deaths of a group that numbers in the low single digit millions to number of women murdered in a country with 300+ million people.
Ignoring that rape is not gendered to push “Men rape, so teach your son’s not to rape”.
Lots of things that have nothing to do with rights.
Bitching about a song, ignoring that it’s about hating the blurred lines between a woman “wanting to get nasty” and maintaing her image as a “good girl”.
In short, feminists acting like their normal nonthinking selves.
First image is misleading, because it’s not only ignoring the fact the the large and far away majority of military deaths are men (whoops), the incredibly large amount of men that come home only to commit suicide (another statistic we know to be overwhelmingly attributed to men), but the very comparison of terror attacks, which thank god are not a common occurrence in the US, and the number of US troops(leaving out other military soldiers) that died during the NATO and allied forces intervention against a relatively small organization, and another relatively small government to domestic cases is ridiculous.
All due respect to veterans, but that is like comparing how many bruises 5 mma fighters get beating up two mediocre boxers, to the amount of bruises victims of police brutality get.
A more logical comparison would be women killed by their husbands/boyfriends to men killed by their wifes/girlfriends.
which, according to fbi data, is estimated to be around a [men:59% | women:41%] comparison. Suggested, because women’s most common methods of spousal killing(s) are poison, professional hitmen, and persuasion of a boyfriend or other associate to do the killing. The latter two methods which if even discovered, tend to be recorded as ‘multiple offender killings’ which men tend to lead (as in who’s been killed) by 4x as much as women.(whoops)
Even without those missing numbers, the comparison is eerily similar to the statistics one can find on rape if “made to penetrate” is counted.
So yes, what war on women.
Second image had nothing to do with men or patriarchy, but Clinton hoping someone who’s profession is listed as “tv personality" to discuss political matters instead of celebrity gossip like she is know to do, but ok sure I guess that’s oppression somehow. =/
Third image is bullshit and implies that feminism has some type of monopoly on equality,(which it doesn’t—hello egalitarianism) women don’t get equal pay for equal work due to a misunderstanding of the earnings gap (only they do), women don’t have not only as many, but more rights than men (which feminists can never seem to respond to, whoops) and most disgustingly the insulting condescending tone of the meme towards other women that would suggest that by not being a feminist or being anti-feminist that they are stupid and will not be granted nor are they interested in these concepts which is completely and demonstrably(shout outs to all the sexy anti-feminist ladays) false.
Fourth image is about a song that is not about rape at all, makes no mentions of sexual intercourse ever happening, suggests a mutual interest and a promotion of the sexual freedom mentality prevalent in modern feminism. Meanwhile we have songs far more misogynistic that go ignored and misandric songs that are justified.
Fifth image is idiotic and dangerous, suggesting that rather than inspire caution in our daughters against the dangers of the world, we should assume our sons are the
ones that knockdanger and convince them through discourse that crimes are crimes, insulting their intelligence and moral integrity.
Six image is true only in the sense that you honestly don’t understand that rights are a list of temporary privileges a government allows you to fight for in court. If they were actually rights, no one could take them away, but as we know from realities like the Japanese/German-American internment camps, the privatized prison system, and the fact that you can be killed (the right to life lol) all of these things can be stripped instantaneously. This also most likely refers to abortion, which has much less to do with the rights of women and the complex debate on the morality of such and a consensus on what constitutes a human life.
Seventh image…seventh image is Amy(bless). Has nothing to do with feminism. Her words(if they’re even hers) can be applied to any movement anywhere, including the MRM.
Eight image is also bullshit. Not only are false allegations of sexual assault common, they are so common that they’ve become an assimilated tool of women and a nation wide understood weapon that women, and only women can use against men in times of personal crisis. It’s these common occurrences that make actual sexual assault cases so difficult to form. [x]
Ninth image is an incredible simplification of a complicated case(those complications being what ended up giving him this sentence), that while sad and tragic, is not uncommon…for female rapists that is. In fact it’s so common for female rapists to get little to no time (if they’re convicted at all since there are no gender neutral rape laws in certain places like India and the UK) that some female rapists are actually shocked to discover they get any jail time at all.[x]
Tenth image could be argued under sexual politics and the finesses of displaying the traits of virility and fertility amongst our gendered population, but there’s no need to even go there as OP took covers from GQ magazine. A publication aimed at an audience of assumed heterosexual men looking for “style advice and tips, sexy women, entertainment and culture news, interviews, and more”. Similar advertising styles appear for other magazines where you’ll find men portrayed similarly sexualized(not that it takes more than a few page turns in GQ itself to find these men). It can also be argued that sexual objectification isn’t even a thing.
You don’t need feminism for any of this.
